Your Labour Team: Norma and David Wilburn
There has never been a more important local election as our Council faces huge cuts in its budgets and our area needs strong people to stick up for our community.
And with local couple David and Norma Wilburn picking up the baton from Ann and Dick Cains in Norton West, we have a Labour team that will fight your corner as everything from police numbers to leisure services suffer under the Tory led Government.
They'll work to ensure that critical local services like street cleaning, refuse collection, job creation, bus services and environmental improvements are maintained.
Norton has seen some considerable change in recent times whilst our conservation Norton Village and Green have remained the special places we all love. And in Norton West we've seen sensitive change with things like the new homes on the garden centre site. David and Norma want to make sure our area continues to be protected. Stockton Centre too is seeing change with the Globe redevelopment and the new High Street Enterprise Shopping Arcade bringing jobs to the area.
Much more still needs to be done and David and Norma will be your voice and make things happen. And they'll keep in touch through your regular Doorstep and surgeries.

David Wilburn
David and Norma have lived in the Ward for over 30 years, married and raised five children here. Like other residents of Norton West they are hard working and facing these difficult times with increasing concern for the community and for vulnerable individuals living here.
They are both school governors, and recently Norma became a director of 'Know How North East' a local charity.
Norma Wilburn
She trained as a teacher and established a unit for special needs children. David worked as an engineer in the steel industry prior to joining Norma in the business.
They are committed to retaining essential Council services and improve the quality of life for Norton West residents.
